Ann & Bill Clemmer Ann & Bill reside in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on the Congo-Rwanda border where they serve as regional consultants in the town of Goma working with IM (International Ministries) partners, HEAL Africa and IMA World Health. Bill provides support to healthcare workers, hospitals and clinics that provide life-saving maternal and child health services. Ann coordinates programs to provide educational and relief assistance to widows, orphans and vulnerable children. Commissioned in 1992, the Clemmer’s have faithfully served in the DRC, South Sudan, and Haiti with interim assignments in Somalia, Yemen, Burundi, and other countries to meet urgent and short-term needs.

Mercy Gonzalez-Barnes

Mercy is a regional consultant in theological education and leadership development in Iberoamerica and the Caribbean. Mercy teaches, mentors, and walks alongside men and women who are following God’s call in their lives. She works with colleagues and local leaders to provide resources, retreats, and workshops. Mercy is also part of a team of global servants who collaborate with Palmer Theological Seminary in their online master’s degree, offering theological studies in Spanish. Leaders in Latin America are better prepared to be agents of transformation and to resource other leaders in their contexts.

Nora & Pieter Kalkman Nora & Pieter are regional coordinators who share the love of Jesus and glorify God through networking with Baptist churches in Europe and the Middle East. They develop mission awareness and coordinate the skills of short-term mission volunteers with the needs of the 50+ Baptist Conventions in the Europe Baptist Federation (EBF). The Kalman’s live strategically near the International Baptist Theological Seminary (IBTS) and the EBF office, both located in Amsterdam. Europe and the Middle East are mission fields in which Baptist and other Evangelical Christians are small (2.1%) minorities. This provides a humble lens for reading Scripture and informs their way of doing outreach. Nora & Pieter multiply their ministry impact through volunteers who share their mission. Wycliffe Bible Translators Amber & Upai Jasa Amber & Upai are veteran Wycliffe Bible Translators translation consultants based in Thailand. For over two decades, the have overseen nearly 50 language translation projects across Mainland Southeast Asia, providing linguistic training, technical support, and final quality approvals for indigenous Scripture projects. But about two hours later he began coughing up blood and struggling to breathe. We rushed him to the hospital, but we were more than an hour away. During that drive his condition deteriorated quickly, and by the time we reached the emergency room he was fighting to stay awake. He was immediately rushed into the ICU, where doctors began clearing his lungs. Since his family was thousands of miles away in Zimbabwe, our church family and his classmates became his only support system. After spending three days in the hospital, we are so thankful that he made a full recovery. I don't share this story to dramatize our ministry. After all, this is the type of thing that could happen anywhere. I share it because it reflects an aspect of missionary life that is sometimes difficult to communicate in a newsletter. Alongside preaching, teaching, and outreach there are many unexpected situations that require wisdom and God's grace. Like you, we face circumstances every day that we could never anticipate, and in those moments we are reminded how desperately we need the Lord's wisdom, protection, and grace.
